Our little barn and pond.
We are a bit late with this but better late then never! We hope this finds you all happy and healthy and that you had a wonderful holiday season.
To update you on our family.... Scott was released as the Bishop of our ward and is now serving on the High Council in the Stake. Joyce was released from the Primary presidency and is now a teacher in the women's organization of the church (Relief Society). Joyce also has a stake calling as the Stake Newsletter Director. So life has settled down considerably!
We purchased five acres of land at the start of the year and have enjoyed working on it. We have a pond that we've seeded the banks on and stocked with fish. We got tired of dragging all our garden equipment out there every time we needed it so we bought a little barn which we placed by the pond to house things. We have planted a large area of blueberry bushes and several fruit trees. We have plans this spring to plant a good sized garden to stock our freezer with.
Jason and Maria have five acres right next door and have been building their house. That project has consumed most of their time and attention but the house looks wonderful and they hope to move into it in the next couple of months. For now they are living with us until their house is done. We enjoy having our two grandsons here.
Leighann and Brad now have five children. Alex is the oldest and only boy! Leighann received an award in Atlanta, GA in 2008 and we were able to go and watch her being honored for her volunteer work with Water for People. Brad has become quite the athlete doing very well in the triathlons he has entered.
Laura and Aaron are now living in their new house that Aaron built. They also have five children... all boys! We had the opportunity to visit them in Nevada this year. They live in a very quiet community with a beautiful view from their house. We had fun launching rockets in their back yard.
Brian has graduated from college with his degree in information systems. He has started his new job in Salt Lake just this week. We were able to spend time with him here in Tennessee over the Christmas break before he started his job. His girlfriend Aimee also came for a week of the break and we all had a wonderful time.
I think that catches everyone up on the happenings at the Silvenis household. I've included a few pictures.
We wish you all the very best in the new year and remind everyone that even with Christmas over "wise men (and women) still seek Him".
Joyce and Scott Silvenis
